Integrated front camera also changes the image when the mirror is turned.

Mirror-type drive recorders in the popular price range generally have a front camera integrated into the mirror itself, as shown in the photo above.

This has the advantage of being inexpensive and easy to install.

However, the major drawback is that the view of the front camera also changes when the mirror screen is turned.

Independent front camera

To solve this drawback, theMirror-camProhas an independent front camera to eliminate this drawback.

The independent front camera allows the same stable image to be recorded both behind and in front of the mirror screen, no matter which way the mirror screen is facing.

Another advantage is that the independent front camera no longer protrudes to the left or right of the interior mirror, eliminating interference with the sun visor. (With the integrated camera, the protruding left and right mirrors inevitably interfered with the sun visor.)

Also, modern cars are equipped with driver assistance systems, which are often located in positions that obstruct the view of the front camera, but the independent front camera can be installed in the optimal location, avoiding these positions.
